Definition of concentration 


➽Concentration is the ability to give your attention or thought to a single object or  activity such as reading a book , listening or studying whether at school or workplace .

➽Unfortunately , to concentrate in something is not easy . We will not be able to do something calmly without getting fully concentrate . So, what is the causes of poor concentration ?

Causes of poor concentration 

  • Uncomfortable environment 
  • Lack of sleep
  • Physiological matters like illness and tiredness
  • Lack of attention
  • Lack of interest
  • Easily distracted
  • Forgetful
  • Lack of motivation

➽If you have a sign of poor concentration above , so do not worry . Every problem there must be a solution , right ? There are several ways to improve our concentration.

STRATEGIES TO IMPROVE CONCENTRATION

⭆ Use motivational and organizational strategies . 

If you has motivational in yourself , it will create interest in the work . Besides that , it also develop a positive attitude toward your word . You can also use goal setting strategies and using time management also help to improve your concentration . 

⭆ Create a positive learning environment.

Try to find a better location when you do something especially reading a book such as at garden or library . It also can minimize distractions . 

⭆ Deal with internal distraction 

Try to make a deal with personal problems or go to counselling may help to improve your concentration too.

⭆ Use active learning strategies 

For example : Study in group , learning while playing a quiz , play a games that we can learn something from that games .

⭆ Match your learning style to the tasks .

Review      ↣ AFTER

There are many types of reading systems. All have 3 things in common >>

1. Previewing before you read .
2. Marking and taking notes while reading .
3. Reviewing after what you read .

Before you read a book , firstly you must ,

1. SURVEY

⇒Make a survey to get an overview of the entire chapter to be read such as title , picture of introduction chapter . 

2. QUESTION
⇒Build a question while reading so that the mind is always looking for answers . 


When you read a book , you must ,

3. READ

⇒Read the paragraph for information , then find the answer from the question that has been built . It will help students focus on reading . 

Then , after you finish read a book , you also need to ,

4. RECITE

⇒Create a notes or remember and memorize important content . Efficiency in a topic will increase if the thinking is reinforced with training and revision. 

5. REVIEW

⇒Review what has been read and revisited notes, then try to recall the queries that have been built and answered again . 

If you do not recall , re-check it until you find the answer .

⤨ A brief and clean note will be kept in the long-term memory .
